‘Stories’ is a floral design studio, specialising in funeral flowers. The design studio was named ‘Stories’ after the owner was inspired by the way flowers could be tailored to represent aspects of a person’s character and life, purely through floral style, shape and colour. Everyone’s life has a story to tell.
My client was keen to explore a handwritten style of typography in the branding, to mirror the personal aspect of a person’s life.
The final logo, inspired by handwriting, had a slightly rough and ‘interesting’ feel to it – in order to represent a life fully lived. I also explored colour and texture from naturally degraded metal, giving the brand a soft, natural feel, without focusing too much on the ‘decaying’ aspect of the imagery.
Letterheads were printed digitally on white uncoated stock. The reverse of the letterhead is a full-bleed image of the natural degraded metal texture, along with a ‘S’ icon created from elements of the logo in the branding..
Business cards were also printed digitally, but using white ink on beautiful uncoated GF Smith Turquoise stock. This turquoise stock was duplexed together with another sheet of white uncoated stock, printing with the texture, to give a high quality, thick business card.
