What I believe in

What I believe in

Some people call it a manifesto. Some people call them brand values. This is simply what I believe in when it comes to good design. Do you believe the same?

Let’s lock up boring design!

Let’s lock up boring design!

Simplicity is best, being boring is a crime.

Clean, clear, simple design that communicates easily is what floats my boat. This doesn’t mean it should be boring though. I enjoy having fun with design and, where appropriate, making it clever and making people smile. If they’re smiling, that means you’ve got their attention.

Less always equals more.

In terms of copy content, logos, colours and fonts, use as little as you can. You’ll still reach your audience but in a more succinct and pleasing way. Like a Cherry Bakewell, good design shouldn’t have any unnecessary ingredients added or taken away. It’s perfect just the way it is.

Good design is like a good cake – perfect.

Good design is like a good cake – perfect.

Let’s bring those ideas to life, in whatever way.

Let’s bring those ideas to life, in whatever way.

Designers aren’t just for logos.

A good designer brings your ideas to life, to help you speak to your audience more effectively and help your business develop. A logo is the perfect design project, but if you want to discuss ideas or concepts for your marketing campaign, let’s talk and see if we can make them fly together.

Invest in design … invest in your business.

Invest in design … invest in your business.

Investment in design is quickly repaid.

The return on investment could be new clients, stronger relationships, faster sales, or a happier team. Getting the customer-facing side of your business looking at its best is always worth it.

If you look good, you’ll feel good

If you look good, you’ll feel good

Strong design builds business confidence.

If your business looks good on the outside, it will feel good on the inside – your employees and stakeholders, as well as your customers.

planning makes perfect

Planning makes perfect.

Get your designer involved at the beginning of the process to help you get the brief right and manage the process through from start to finish. You’ll find the job goes smoother that way.

collaboration brings great rewards

Collaboration brings great rewards.

When you and your designer are working well together, they’ll just ‘get it’ and everything will click. Seek rewarding and respectful design partnerships, not last minute rushed jobs.
